We catch up with Luca – an eight year-old Floridian taking action to protect manatees and other ocean creatures through beach cleanups, community educational events and activism.
Everything starts with inspiration. Ocean Uprise hosts a virtual talk every month – and groups of youth from diverse backgrounds are invited to tune in and participate in group discussions after each talk. Guests so far include shark advocate Mike Coots, surf collective Textured Waves and Indigenous runner and activist Jordan Marie Daniel.
