Parley and #TOGETHERBAND join forces and introduce Editions for Peace bands made from Ocean Plastic®, with proceeds from the ‘Life Below Water’ band directly supporting ocean conservation efforts

In 2015, world leaders gathered to define 17 Global Goals to build a better future for every living being. More than five years later, we have more work to do than ever. Parley is excited to team up with #TOGETHERBAND and join the mission to share the Global Goals through creativity and culture, a movement that has engaged over 1.6 billion people to date.

Every #TOGETHERBAND bracelet supports a different goal, a life-changing imperative to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for everyone by 2030. Peace and togetherness are central to the #TOGETHERBAND campaign — and imperative to the success of any cause. This message is reflected in the Editions for Peace Collection, now made with Ocean Plastic®. The blue bland for Goal 14, ‘Life Below Water', represents why a healthy ocean is essential to our existence, with proceeds directly funding vital ocean conservation efforts and initiatives. ⁠The collection also now introduces The Black Edition band, also made from Ocean Plastic®, that shows support for all 17 UN Global Goals and marks the start of our ongoing collaboration.

Every #TOGETHERBAND Editions for Peace bracelet is constructed with rope made from Parley Ocean Plastic®, and a Humanium Metal clasp plated in Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum. There are hundreds of millions of illegal firearms in the world. Humanium Metal is a recycled stainless steel repurposed from deconstructed illegal firearms, which are seized by local authorities in Central America. The firearms are melted down and transformed back to raw stainless steel material by IM Sweden Development Partner in Sweden. The clasp is made from the resulting Humanium Metal moulded into the shape of the signature BOTTLETOP upcycled ring pulls. This helps put an end to armed violence while also creating new sources of funding for victims and projects that aim to rebuild conflict-torn societies.

Parley Ocean Plastic® is our premium material created from upcycled plastic waste recovered from shorelines and coastal communities by the Parley Global Cleanup Network. Ocean Plastic® was invented to drive change in response to marine plastic pollution and the destruction of our oceans. It is a catalyst for the Material Revolution and helps fund initiatives of Parley’s Ocean Plastic Program focused on direct impact, communication and education, eco-innovation, and research and development.

The bands are handcrafted in Nepal by female artisans who were previously identified as being trafficked. In an effort to empower them and their wider communities, and to break the poverty cycle, artisans are trained to hand-make the bracelets. All artisans are paid 45% higher than the national industry average, given on-the-job training and an opportunity for a better future.

Each band purchased directly funds #TOGETHERBAND beneficiaries; supporting life-changing programs advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals that are meant to safeguard our future and protect all life on this planet. Peace, togetherness and collaboration can lead us forward.
